Circular Textiles – A Fashionable Circular+ Solution to Fashion Waste, CO2 Emissions, & Waste

At the intersection of sustainability and innovation, our in-house developed material called Circular Textiles is redefining how we think about waste. Made from up to 100% recycled textile waste, our groundbreaking material is more than just a product—it’s a transformative solution for the fashion industry and beyond. By utilizing both production waste from the world’s leading brands and post-consumer textile waste from fast fashion and other sources, Circular Textiles is paving the way for a truly circular economy.

A Global Crisis of Textile Waste

The scale of textile waste on our planet is staggering. Each year, the world produces an astonishing 92 million tons of textile waste. Countries like China and the United States are the leading contributors, generating 20 million tons and 17 million tons respectively. To put it into perspective, clothing and textiles account for at least 7% of the total waste occupying global landfill space.

These statistics highlight a pressing issue: the vast majority of textile waste is not being reused or recycled. Every year, between 80 and 100 billion new garments are produced globally, yet 87% of the materials and fibers used to create them end up in either incinerators or landfills. This means that only a fraction of what is discarded—just 20% of textiles—is collected, and a mere 1% of clothing is recycled into new garments.

The Role of Circular Textiles in Addressing Fashion Waste

This dire situation underscores the critical need for innovative solutions like Circular Textiles. At Circular+, we’ve forged partnerships with some of the world’s leading fashion brands to purchase their production waste. By turning what would otherwise be discarded into a valuable resource, we’re not just reducing landfill contributions—we’re actively working to reverse the trend of waste and pollution caused by the fashion industry.

Circular Textiles is a material designed to make a real impact. Backed by third-party certified life cycle analysis, this material offers a significant reduction in environmental impact:

  • CO2 emissions reduced by up to 96%
  • Non-renewable fossil fuel resources reduced by up to 97%
  • Production wastewater reduced by 99%

These impressive figures highlight the potential of Circular Textiles to reshape the global fashion industry, transforming waste into valuable products while dramatically reducing environmental harm.

Versatile, Durable, and Beautiful

Circular Textiles is not just environmentally beneficial; it’s also incredibly versatile. This material is durable, injection moldable, and uniquely beautiful, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Whether it’s hangers for large retail brands that want to tell their closed-loop story or consumer goods like recycled planter pots and our new, elegantly designed dog bowls, Circular Textiles is leading the charge in sustainable product design.

A Circular Material for a Circular Economy

At the heart of Circular Textiles is the principle of circularity. This material can be processed and turned back into new goods, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. As part of our Circular+ platform, Circular Textiles is playing a crucial role in addressing the global issue of fashion waste. By integrating this material into various industries, we’re helping to create a more sustainable, closed-loop system where materials are reused and recycled rather than discarded.

The Future of Circular Textiles

But we’re not stopping here. We’re on the brink of another breakthrough with Circular Textiles—developing a method to 3D print with this material. This innovation will open up even more possibilities for sustainable design, allowing us to create complex, customized products with minimal waste.

Circular Textiles isn’t just a material; it’s a movement. It’s a tangible solution to the vast problem of textile waste, and it’s a key player in our Circular+ platform. Together, we’re shaping a future where sustainability is at the forefront of every design decision, and where waste is a thing of the past.

Join us on this journey towards a more sustainable world with Circular Textiles—a material that truly embodies the spirit of circularity and offers a viable solution to one of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.
