Dog Foreign Body Obstruction Surgery
The Story of the Better Bone starts with the terrifying reality of what industry “standard” nylon-based bones can cause. Foreign Body Obstruction Surgery.
After a year of anticipation while on Lonestar Bernedoodles’ waitlist, the day finally came. We traveled to Texas and made the long trek home to Fort Mill, South Carolina where Woodford instantly became the face of the Craft family. We were in love.
Determined to give Woodford the best life possible, we bought him the best food, highest quality treats, and duh, tons of TOYS (notice I did not say highest
the quality or best). He got everything from nylon plastic and rope tug toys to organic dog treats and top-shelf puppy chow. Little did we uninformed pet parents know that we were not caring for our best friend but putting his life at risk. At just six months old we took Woodford to the vet after a fit of vomiting. X-rays confirmed he had multiple foreign body obstructions in his stomach and colon. Emergency surgery was the only option to save his life.
After a successful foreign body obstruction surgery by one of the most wonderful veterinarians, Dr. Gamboni of Veterinary Medical Center of Fort Mill, we got to see the culprits firsthand. Woodford almost lost his life to a nylon plastic dog toy and a tennis ball size amount of nylon rope.
How did we not know the risks of these toys? Why are we feeding our dogs harmful, dyed rope? If we as humans strive to eat healthily, why are we feeding our dogs NYLON PLASTIC? It just did not make sense. We began to as ourselves critical questions that led to the development of BetterBone.
After over a year of research and development, pet parents now have a solution to this decades-old problem. Better ingredients, better design, BetterBone. Click here to get more product information and order your pup’s first BetterBone today!
